This Canadian selection is an improvement on the older Autumn Joy with a taller habit and stronger stems. Autumn Fire produces green clusters of buds in midsummer, gradually opening into huge dusty pink flower heads, deepening with age. An outstanding cut flower. Attracts butterflies. Drought tolerant once established.

Prefers well-drained soil. Feed in spring with an all purpose fertilizer before new growth begins. Pinch in June to create shorter stronger stems for the heavy flowers. Divide plants in spring to promote vigorous spring growth and to control size.
