Shrubs

Are much smaller then trees but share many of the same characteristics. Shrubs are an integral part of the landscape and can provide various colours that can be enjoyed for a lifetime if treated properly. There are thousands of different sizes and varieties available. Many shrubs are commonly known for their beautiful blooms that can be enjoyed in the garden or as cut flowers. The most commonly searched plant in the world today is a shrub; the hydrangea.

This attractive upright growing plant has a habit slender enough to allow it to be used as an accent even in smaller landscape settings. White flowers appear in spring turning into edible berries in June. The deep green almost circular leaves turn red and orange in fall. It is a fabulous addition to any small area and is very cold tolerant of winter conditions.

Fire Light® is the standard to measure all hardy hydrangeas! This is an easy-to-grow, reliable panicle hydrangea, selected it for its huge, full flower heads and sturdy, strong stems. Blooms emerge creamy-white and age to a vivid red for lots of summer color. It makes a great cut flower, fresh or dried, and can be used as a hedge, specimen, or incorporated into flower gardens and foundation plantings.

Unforfettable Fire is a new compact form of burning bush with dense, fine branching and smaller leaves. This is a very good choice for residential landscapes and has outstanding fall color. Grows up to 1.75m/6ft tall and 1.5m/5ft wide.

Pucker Up!® is a unique version of our native red-twig dogwood that offers a little twist: heavily textured foliage that has a 'quilted' effect. It makes an eye-catching addition to your landscape and thrives even in wet or partially shaded areas. Though it does flower and display some red coloration on its young stems, foliage is this variety's defining characteristic. This versatile shrub works well as a mass planting, for naturalistic or native plantings, and for a unique specimen.

This latest addition to the Bloomerang® series has the same multi-season flower show, only this time in pink. The fragrant blooms will delight gardeners in spring, then again from midsummer to fall. Great addition to the border as hedge or in containers.

Golden Shadows® is a beautiful Pagoda Dogwood with an elegant habit. It has large leaves that are golden yellow, with irregular green markings, and the new growth is often flushed with hues of reddish orange. Attractive lacy white flowers in spring add to its charm. The horizontal lines of this plant will add sophistication to the home landscape.
