Bylands Nurseries Ltd. has been part of the Okanagan since 1953. What began as fruit-tree suppliers for local orchards with 12 acres has now grown to 13 farms and over 500 acres, supplying garden centres, landscapers, and orchardists across Canada and the US.

When Adrian Byland arrived in Canada from Holland in 1953, he brought a family tradition of growing nursery stock that dated back to the 1700s. Three years later, Adrian and his wife, Katie, bought their first 12 acres of land near Kelowna and began growing fruit trees for the local orchard industry. The company started to expand rapidly in the 1970s as the Okanagan grew in population. Today, Bylands farms over 500 acres of land, grows over three million plants annually, and has two thriving local garden centres.
Bylands remains a family-run enterprise with two generations working in the business. Bylands Nurseries is owned and operated by John and his son, Mike, and Bylands Garden Centre is owned and operated by Maria and her daughter, Melanie.
